Today's the 25th so officially 2 months until Christmas! My Christmas sewing is getting there, but slower than I'd like. Not enough hours in the day, and certainly not enough when I'm feeling fresh and productive. Still, I managed to get this very red dress finished for Louisa:A very simple looking dress, and just a plain red drill, so it definitely needed some kind of decoration. I contemplated an even more Christmassy green trim, but compromised on this pretty green ribbon. On another note, these guys have decided that our pool is a great place to have their morning dip. Why they've chosen ours, we're not sure - pools aren't exactly a rarity in our part of South East Queensland. We're not happy for them to be using it as a toilet, so we shoo them off as soon as we see them. I felt a bit guilty the other morning when one of them flew into a glass fence we have out the back, but thankfully he recovered and flew off before I had to put my CPR skills into effect.

Oh Suz! That's the perfect summer Christmas dress. I love it.
The dress is lovely, I must get started on the girls soon!
Your pool makes me wish I had one! My neighbors have an above ground but not yet set up. I want to go swimming in yours, ducks and all! So clean looking too lol I can handle ducks, geese on the other hand I am terrified off!!
Wow, I love the dress. It is such a nice style.
The dress looks great Suz.
It is simple yet perfect for Christmas. I like the green ribbon detail too.
Love the dress - NOT cheesy at all! It's simple enough that it can be worn anytime, but will look perfect for that photo on Santa's knee or opening presents on Christmas morning. Must get my butt into gear with a Christmas outfit!!!
I think It's a gorgeous dress! As others have said, just perfect for a summery christmas outfit. I love the style of the dress too. Louisa looks so nice in red, it suits her :)
I like the style of the dress too. Kinda like a 60's style.
What a beautiful deep red dress! Love the colour! Louisa suddenly looks bigger too. :) Growing up too fast!
that is so cute! christmassy without being OTT! I love it and little miss is really growing up!
Corrie:)
I agree with the others, that dress is lovely. I too have to start thinking of a Christmas outfit for Emily!! Love the ducks, not sure I'd like them in my pool though LOL.. DH did save one the other day.. a cute baby one. I think it was a similar type that you've got there.. Wood ducks I think they're called.
We have a massive duck problem in our pool. It drives me crazy. I am shooing them off all day and they make such a mess and triple the cleaning required. Can you tell I am not a fan of wild ducks, LOL>
The dress is gorgeous. She looks beautiful in that shade of red.
